TCX have designed the Competizione GTX boot with comfort, safety and style as the top priorities. In their bid to deliver one of the most advanced and technological boots ever seen on the market TCX have had the privilege of teamimg up with GORE- TEX to complete the boots evolution by making it completely waterproof.

The TCX Competizione GTX is made of full grain leather which gives the rider maginificent comfort and softness on the foot. The shin protector which is also mesh vented, at the front of the boot, provides a great defense for any unwanted stones flying up from the road and any other debris that maybe encountered. A polyurethane toe slider on the outside front of the boot will enable the rider lean into to those corners. A rear slider on the heel ensures that the heel is untouchable, and therefore safe from any impact.

The Competizione has a robust main zip and two Velcro straps for that extra secure fitting.

At the back of the boot, TCX have created their inspirational and totally amazing Torsion Control System. This system acts like an ankle brace, giving the rider total confidence if they were to come into any difficulties out on the road. The Torsion System gives total protection for all the joints in your lower leg and gives the calf muscle support, which is followed down the boot with extensive Achilles protection. The boots shape is a natural angle for the ankle and is very flexible when bent forward. It has a side-to-side locking runner system on each side of the Torsion frame to enable the boot to protect the rider's ankle from side motion. This boot will not bend backwards and it would take an unbelievable force to do this. The Torsion system has been screwed on the boot with stainless steel screws, this also applies to the toe sliders at the front of the boot, ensuring near indestructibility.

The TCX Competizione GTX makes you look good on the bike, but also gives you maximum protection.

The sole of the boot is made up of three colour injected specific grip areas. Horizontal stripe tread can be found on the inner front of the sole where the ball of the foot is, in the middle on the arch of the foot for pedal grip and adjustment, and on the middle and outside of the heel area. A small spiky tread can be found from the middle to the outer of the front of the sole, and on the inside and the very back of the heel.

Torsion Control System

T.C.S. The system is made up of a combination of 4 elements. The main structure is composed of a double - heel counter and an interchangeable, polyurethane frame that allows lateral and longitudinal movement of the ankle, preventing torsion beyond natural linits and therefore protecting the joint from possible injuries. This main structure is connected to a X-shaped central body sewn to the upper connecting the top to the bottom of the boot to guarantee excellent hold. The system is completed by a polyurethane rear slider to protect the heel.

Gore-Tex Membrane This fine material has important features such as long-term waterproofing capacity, excellent resistance to the most extreme temperatures high resistance to wear and tear. The special microporous structure of the Gore Tex fabric in expanded PTFE contains around 1.4 thousand million  microscopic pores per square centermetre. The pores are approximately 20,000 times smaller than a drop of water, but 700 times larger than a molecule of water vapour. So while water cannot penetrate the Gore Tex membrane in liquid form, sweat water vapour can easily evaporate. This results in a completely waterproof barrier that means the boot can be used in all climates, guaranting maximum comfort and optional breathability.
