During its manufacturing process only flat seams are used so as to avoid grazes that can be annoying and can hurt the skin. Since it came on to the market, there have been lots of low price imitations to the detriment of the effectiveness in front of the cold wind caused by the speed. None of these imitations has been able to reach the performance qualities of the leader Comfort in Action. The Comfort in Action – Perform Series range uses the most advanced textile technology of the world and the latest progresses concerning insulating and breathable materials. Experienced textile engineers have selected the most appropriate materials to help motorcyclists to deal with the wind while riding at a certain speed. Those materials are the only ones that are able to insulate the body form external temperatures worsened by the Windchill effect. Coolmax, Thermolite and Windstopper specific characteristics and properties create a constant temperature air chamber around the body which insulates it from the outer layer of the fabric and avoids its cooling. They also allow perspiration vapour to escape avoiding the cold sensation it causes. Satisfactory tests on efficiency have been carried out by BIKERS experts. They rode snow bikes in Canada, at about -30º C and at 120km/h. Comfort in Action concept uses light high technology fibres and materials which are properly combined to resist either the wind and the coldness.The new wind stopper: Windstopper-Coldwind responsible of the efficiency of those garments is the result of the junction of two thin layers of thermal materials laminated with the Windstopper micrometric Teflon membrane that is both waterproof and breathable. This double effect prevents wind from ripping through and avoids condensation to start forming. The achievement of this interaction is that the clothes remain dry and the body warm. Coolmax fabric holds the highest evaporation coefficient from all the current textile fibres. It is never wet when touched. It is essential for elite sportsmen gear because of its high water-repellent properties. It is used by Comfort in Action in its ST WindPlus line for the hood which is in contact with the head liable to sweat when it wears a helmet. Thermolite is the thermal version of Coolmax. They differ in that it uses empty threads that form microscopic individual air chambers inside. Once it is woven this peculiar filament creates a thin and light elastic cloth with a high insulating coefficient which also retains the warmth amongst its fibres. Its protection properties are 30% higher than conventional thermal fibres even when their bulk is equal. It is used by Comfort in Action for the back part of its underwear range. It guarantees elasticity, softness and protection. It is the motorcyclist’s best thermal comfort. Those garments’ users keep a constant temperature, around 32º no matter the speed or the external temperature. After several years of research with W.L. Gore, Bikers has developed a new outer fabric: Coldwind. This American multinational manufactures it for the sole use of Comfort in Action- Perform Series garments line around the world. • Thinner, lighter and more breathable than Tornado (used previously) it turns out to be superior on performance qualities. • Exceptional water-repellent coefficient in textile fibres.
